For Owners Who Are Burned Out

Step back from your business without selling it.

Every call, every invoice and every problem still lands on you. Selling feels too final. There's another option: keep the business and hand off the work you're done doing. McKee Texas works with owners in Dallas-Fort Worth and across Texas to take that work off their plate, one piece at a time, while they keep ownership and the profits.

Is This You?

Signs it's time to hand some of it off

  • You can't take a week off without your phone ringing
  • You're the only one who knows how to quote, bill or order
  • Paperwork and follow-ups eat your evenings and weekends
  • The business is profitable, but you're tired
  • You've thought about selling, but you're not ready to give it up

If a few of those sound familiar, you don't need to sell to get your time back. You need the work to stop depending on you.

How It Works

Three steps, at your pace

  1. 1

    We learn your business

A one-week paid review of your operations, finances, people and systems. You get a written plan showing how you step back and what it would take. It's yours to keep whether or not we work together after.

  2. 2

We take things off your plate

We set up the systems first. Then we take over the work you don't want, one piece at a time: scheduling, quoting, billing, follow-ups. You decide how far it goes.

  3. 3

You collect, and choose what's next

You get a simple monthly report and the profits. Keep it that way as long as you like. If you ever want to sell, we can make an offer, and you'll already know who's buying.

Options

Pick how much you hand off

Level 1: Systems

We build it. Your team runs it. Automated quoting, invoicing and follow-ups, AI tools for scheduling, email and paperwork, a one-page weekly numbers report, and written procedures for every key job.

Level 2: Front & Back Office

You run the business. We take the office work off your plate. Front office: calls and messages, booking, quotes, follow-ups and reviews. Back office: invoicing, collections, vendor orders, bookkeeping prep and employee paperwork. You choose which tasks we take.

Level 3: Full Management

Your manager runs the day. We oversee the business and report to you. We run weekly reviews with your on-site manager and own the targets, and part of our pay is tied to growing your profit. Needs a manager on site, and spots are limited.

You keep final say on the bank accounts, big purchases and hiring. Everything is in writing.

Automation & AI

What we can automate for you

Most owners lose hours every week to the same handful of jobs. These are the ones we automate most often for small businesses:

Quotes and follow-ups

Quotes go out faster, and customers who haven't answered get a polite reminder without anyone having to remember.

Scheduling and reminders

Online booking, confirmations and reminders that cut down on no-shows and phone tag.

Invoicing and collections

Invoices go out on time, and overdue accounts get reminders before they turn into a problem.

Reviews and referrals

Happy customers get asked for a review at the right moment.

Email and paperwork

AI tools draft routine replies, fill out forms and organize documents, and your team checks the results.

A weekly numbers report

One page every week with revenue, jobs booked, cash in the bank and money owed, wherever you are.

What Stays With You

You stay the owner

Stepping back doesn't mean giving up control. In every arrangement, these stay with you, in writing:

  • Ownership of the business and its profits
  • Signing authority on the bank accounts
  • Final say on big purchases
  • Hiring and firing of managers
  • Whether, when and to whom you ever sell

FAQ

Questions about stepping back

Can you run my business without buying it?

Yes. We can automate the routine work, take over the front office and back office tasks you don't want, or oversee your on-site manager so you can step away. You keep full ownership and the profits.

Do I have to sell to you later?

No. Selling is always your call. You can keep the business as long as you like. If you do decide to sell, we agree up front on how a fair price would be worked out, so there are no surprises.

What if I don't have a manager who could run things without me?

That's common, and it's usually the first thing we work on. We take the office work off your plate right away, then help you promote someone from your team or hire the right person, and we train them. Once they've run things for a month with you away and the numbers have held, we can oversee them so you can step back further.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is set after the review, based on the size of the business and how much you hand off. A six-person shop and a twenty-five-person company need very different help, so we don't publish one price. You'll see the exact cost in your written plan before you commit to anything.

Is my business big enough for this?

If the business doesn't yet pay you enough to cover outside help and still pay you what you need, we'll tell you plainly. In that case we start smaller, with a few automations that free up your time and help grow profit, and come back to stepping back later.
