Business Consulting in DFW

Hands-on business consulting for DFW owners.

We don't hand you a slide deck and leave. We work with you and your team on the parts of the business that cost you time and money, and we stay involved while the changes get made. The goal is a business that runs better, depends less on you, and is worth more when you do decide to sell.

What We Help With

Where we work with you

Operations & Process

We find the bottlenecks and broken workflows that cost you time and margin, then fix them. The business becomes more profitable and depends less on you.

Sales & Revenue Growth

We improve what drives steady revenue: your sales process, pricing, customer retention and new markets.

Technology & Systems

We choose and set up the right tools for your business, like a CRM, automation, reporting dashboards and AI, and we make sure your team actually uses them.

Financial Strategy

We help you understand your numbers and act on them: cash flow, margins by service line, and what kind of financing makes sense when you need it.

Team & Leadership

We help you hire well, develop your leaders and build accountability, so the business doesn't depend on one or two people.

Exit Preparation

Planning to sell eventually? We help you get the books clean, the systems documented and the business less dependent on you. Buyers pay more for that.

AI & Automation

AI that actually saves your team time

AI is useful for a small business when it takes real work off someone's desk. We skip the hype and start with the jobs your team repeats every day: answering common questions, drafting quotes and emails, entering the same data twice, chasing invoices, and building reports by hand.

We pick tools that fit the software you already use, set them up, train your team, and check the results with you. Client data only goes into tools that don't train on it, and nothing changes without your OK.

How It Works

How an engagement runs

  1. 1

A conversation about where it hurts

We start with what's costing you the most time, money or sleep, and what you want the business to look like in a few years.

  2. 2

A look at the numbers and the operation

We review your financials, watch how work actually moves through the business, and talk to the people doing it.

  3. 3

    Agreed priorities

We agree on what to fix first, what done looks like, and how we'll measure it.

  4. 4

We do the work with your team

We build the process, set up the tools and train your people, instead of handing over a list of recommendations.

  5. 5

    Monthly check-ins on results

We look at the numbers together and adjust until the change sticks.

FAQ

Questions about consulting

What does business consulting with McKee Texas look like?

It's hands-on. We work with your team, look at what's working and what isn't, and help carry out the changes instead of advising from the sidelines. Every engagement starts with a conversation about where you need the most help.

How is consulting different from Step Back?

Consulting is a project to fix or build something specific, like a sales process or a new system. Step Back is ongoing help where we take work off your plate every month. Some owners start with one and move to the other.

Do you work with businesses outside Dallas-Fort Worth?

Yes. DFW is our home market and we work in person there most often, but we work with businesses across Texas, including Houston, Austin and San Antonio.

Do you do taxes, legal work or financial planning?

No. Those stay with your CPA, attorney and financial advisor. We'll work alongside them when it helps.

Ready to grow?

Tell us where the business is stuck. We'll tell you honestly whether we can help.
